In between Scotland and England lies a strip of land, The Debatable Lands, that formed its own unique culture hundreds of years ago. With little natural resources and the land being only suitable for forestry or hill sheep farming a whole section of the United Kingdom became forgotten. Over the last 10 years there was been a change. Artist regeneration groups have popped up over the region hoping to encourage the populace to take the fight into their own hands. Aiming to become sustainable communities. These communities are where Sian Yeshe calls home. Sian Yeshe has spent the last three years working alongside organisations that are actively engaged in developing this region. In her talk Sian will cover the challenges faced in her region and how each group tackles it differently, along side details of the development in her next step in community regeneration in her new position as Creative Director for Youth Engagement for Outpost Arts.
